Hello everyone and welcome back to my little corner of the world! I'm so happy that you decided to stop by today. Please forgive me for this late post, as I was spending time with my wonderful family yesterday and decided to take the day off. I hope that all of you had a wonderful weekend, and that your week has been a great one so far.
So I woke up this morning at my usual time of 8:00am. I fumble around looking for my glasses and for the life of me I can't remember where on God's beautiful earth I put them before going to bed last night. After I search the whole apartment, that light bulb upstairs begins to flicker and prompt me to go and check in my bed. Lo and behold they are safely nestled right there beneath my pillow. Thank God for my glasses! I slip them on and begin my usual little routine. The cat's rubbing all over my legs and giving me her patient, but persistent meows, as she cries her precious little cat heart out waiting to be fed. So before I can grab that first cup of coffee, I stumble to the kitchen and feed her. After I feed the cat, I put the coffee pot on and start to brew my coffee. While waiting for my coffee, I go check on our two little friendly parakeets. Bless their tiny little hearts, I find them sitting quietly and patiently waiting to be uncovered. I uncover them and talk to them for a few minutes and then I get them fresh water and feed them before heading back to the kitchen for that first, and most delightful cup of coffee. I'm not real sure what heaven is like, but boy I'll tell you, that first cup of coffee is heaven to me! :) I finish my coffee, and hurry off to take a shower before the gang all starts to get up. Trust me, it's like a highway traffic jam around here in the morning while everyone's trying to get into the bathroom! One bathroom shared between five adults and two children isn't the easiest or most convenient thing, but I am thankful for it. Oh I forgot to tell you, that while on the balcony uncovering the birds, the sun was shining and it was a beautiful day. In our bathroom there's a very small window, and while showering, I notice that it's looking rather dark out there, but I figure it's just because that bathroom window leads to what is called the manwar. I'm not real sure what this area is called in English, but it's an open area in the middle of the building where all of the piping & plumbing for all of the apartments is. After I get out of the shower, and step out of the bathroom, I notice the apartment is so dark, and my nostrils become filled with the smell of dust and dirt. Oh My Goodness! I know right away that there's a dust storm going on outside. I run to the balcony and swing the shutters open, and there it is, giving me that all too familiar, welcome to Egypt, once again. The skies are dark and full of dust and dirt, and the wind is whirling it all over the place. Paper, dust and dirt glide about in mid air, while my laundry that hangs on the clothes line, waves at me as it merrily dances in the wind. I quickly pull the laundry off of the lines, close the balcony up, and run all about the apartment closing all of the shutters and windows. Unfortunate for me, it's too late. The dust and dirt quickly lays itself to rest all over the apartment, leaving me with a good morning greeting, and the question in my mind, aren't you happy you live in this little corner of the world?! :) So today, I have my work cut out for me. Instead of spending my day writing, I will be spending the larger part of this day trying to clean up this awful mess that the dust storm graced me with.
Thank you all very much for stopping by today. I hope that the remainder of your week, and the coming weekend will be a safe, peaceful, and blessed one for all! Take care and God Bless All!
